I know you've heard it before. People tell you to do something and you cry out, "I'm trying!" but that's never good enough. So what do they say? "Don't try. Do." Well, I'm telling you that no matter what they say, there is no do without try. Every do is, at its heart, a try that successfully carried out its original intent. So don't let them confuse you. Keep at it. Do try.

It's not easy being me this week. A relative statement, to be sure, but there's truth to it. I've got projects being crammed into me every-which way, and none of them pay. I'm trying to get a ten page comic written for one college literary magazine, I've been "commissioned" (note the quotes) to submit a grip of art to a second college magazine, and I'm trying to force out 30 pages worth of creative writing in under two weeks for an MFA application. All of this wouldn't be so bad (even enjoyable) if it wasn't for all the homework piled up and over it.
